Saturday morning and I partied too hard last night. With a cup of tea and 
an apple bread, I sit down to visit my friends at Japan Resort.





There is always a great music stream or dj there playing disco, progressive, electro or anything in between.






This is a Japanese community that welcomes everyone from around the world. 
Languages of the planet can be heard on the dance floor. Woot!

Rock and roll Rumours Club has moved to State of Fashion sim. An outdoors setting surrounded by shops and ocean provides the perfect setting for summer.







Rumours Club is always packed with the rocker fans, but tonight seems to be extra crowded at the new place.




JR Colter was spinning his set and mixing in requests from his fans. It's always fun here! Woot!

We dropped off at The Pocket on Freestar Bay Isle to listen to a couple of sets of live music. The Pocket is one of the first places that I ever attended for live music in Second Life.



Winston Auckland was strumming his guitar and singing an electic set of music including a very jazzy version of a Kurt Cobain song that had me smiling.






OhMyKidd was next and we decided to hang for a while, relax to the music here. I saw a lot of old famiiar names here from other live music venues. And, that is a comfort for me...

gardens at southern cross

A gifted garden has risen at Southern Cross Gardens. A small retail area near the beach has great gifts for this Easter. Check the toys and curios and the cute beanies for your friends.






Then take a walk along the boardwalk over to the gardens and visit the greenhouse. The paddle wheel turns gently, splashing water near the river and rock.





A brick patio is a beautiful place to sit and view the gardens while listening to the old time radio stories. I found dj TheArtfullOne Skytower's name on all the builds; a talented dj and builder.
This is a beautiful place for a date or just a nice spot for anyone looking for a relaxed chill area.









I hung out here for an hour or more just enjoying the place, listening to the stories and meeting people. Kokopu Tavern is also here. An intimate bar perfect for live music and/or club music. Kudos!

JAPAN RESORT is my ...

Japan Resort is my home away from home. It's been three years since I found this little island on the Second Life grid. I still remember how I found it...

The first week of my SL experience, I spent time doing searches for my favorite subjects and places. Of course, I looked for anything Japanese or asian related. Japan Resort was at the top of the searches, so I tp'ed into the sim.



A vast expanse of beach with a small sign proclaiming "Japan Resort" rezzed in front of me. Next to the rezz area was a little ice cream stand with a simple chair. A bunch of avatars were just standing around there chatting. Some were dressed as fierce cyber warriors or dragons or creatures. Most were in regular clothes like me.

Off in the distance, I could see a tiki bar, hammocks and rafts near the beach side. And, a lifeguard station with surf boards and wind surfers were nearby. As I walked along the beach, I saw a pink cherry blossom tree with a pool and spa across the way. Many avatars were sitting in the pool and chatting away with each other. The event area is always a party zone with people stopping in for a dance or just to meet others.

I met my best friend here at Japan Resort. And, I also met my first love here. I have met so many people at Japan Resort that I could possibly say that my closest and dearest relationships were all formed here.

JR is a simple place without the fanfare of much of the grid. But, the place is more complex that any other... why? Because it is a place of real relationships and real people... a gathering place of international people reaching out for fun and human contact.
