Builder Tyler Ethaniel was definitely influenced by Saturday Morning Cartoons!




Buildings were colorful and skewed. The entrance was a series of brightly lit portals as each patron was enveloped in a Kodak-colored series of rooms.






DJ Ritch was playing what could only be described as Looney Tunes! LOL!

A beautiful winter wonderland at BassLine Island is charming at the Hardbeatz Xmas Stage. With the whimsical train choo chooing around the twinkling Christmas trees, the very hard beats of drum and bass and dub were definitely an edgy contrast to the holiday decor. BassLine always has awesome builders creating very cool spaces.









Avatars were peppered all over the Bassline Island region at small parties with Drum and Bass, dub and reggae booming from the speakers. 






When the beat enters your ears and your avi starts dancing, it's very hard to leave! You just don't leave a BassLine Junkiez parties when the dj is pumping out the tunes... party peeps!

burn2 : burning man

Logged into the BURN2 with my alt so that I could just manuever and teleport into the massive event. (You should have been to the real Burning Man as dust was the enemy there!)

I got there an hour early and the place was already packed and lag-o-licious. Fireworks in the sky and all kinds of beautiful particles were exploding everywhere on the four sims.

I knew I had to upload the pre-burn pictures now before I went crashola. It was inevitable as I had several windows open on my desktop trying to take pictures, blogging, uploading and blah blah blah!

I came to experience the whole thing again. Last year was incredible and I didn't want to miss this one. I'll try to load up the burn pictures as soon as I can, but I have a feeling the lag will get pretty bad once it starts!

I took so many pictures of BURN2 the last few days. I thought I should at least post a few. So many great things to see and experience on the dry playa, that it would take forever to go through all of it.







Lag was a bit much on the opening day, but I expected that. I used an alt to navigate around; one that had hardly anything in inventory. It really helped to have no scripted huds or attachments, too.




My favorite artists and their works are here. I am gaga over Nish Mip (she recently won UWA's 3D Design Challenge) and her cyber robot club/lounge "Robot Summer City." I could have hung out there all day.

Next favorite was Gracie Kendal. I have a few of her pieces from 2007 when I first ran across her work at a now defunct art gallery on the grid. Her Burning Man "painting" of swirls and textures had me walking and flying through it. There is a story told... an important one.





The cartoony, Mario-build was fabulous. Legos stacked and pieced together creating a huge monumental build. You could see it from across the sims! So sweet and charming and it brought a big smile to my face.




I did spend one entire afternoon with the Stilt Bitches Flying Circus. The freebies were so great. Stilts, costumes and fire juggling were given away. Everyone was dancing. I couldn't tear myself away.










I have only gone to a couple of parties as I have been super busy lately with other grid matters. I hit Barbs Kurka's "Barb's Psytrance Tent" a few times as I seem to know most of the dj's over there.





Live music was awesome. So many talented musicians are playing at the Center Tent. Make sure you go at least a few times to catch the different genres of music there.





It will be impossible to see everything. But, the weekend is almost here, so I hope to check out more!
